FALL COLOR FEST.
In the month of September, the san Juan's mountains offers a spectacular "Color Fest" just before the tree's are dropping their leaves for another winter hibernation. It is the perfect time for hiking in the high country. Normally the process of the leaves changing colors starts in the middle of the month and lasts until the first week in October. The intensity of the colors are pendent on the moisture content and since we had good rainfall this summer and the snowmelt lasting until late July it will be the best "Color Fest" we have seen in a long time.
